Job Description:
As a Sub-Contractor Carpenter, you will be responsible for the installation of fences, gates, and retaining walls. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. You will be working on various residential and commercial projects across Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install Colorbond, Timber paling, Blade, Picket, Security etc… fences, gates (manual and automatic gates), and retaining walls according to project specifications.
- Order and transport materials.
- Ensure all installations are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Demolish and dispose of old fence materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Assess and manage OH&S risks.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a carpenter, particularly in fence, gate, and retaining wall installation.
- Strong understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers, etc.).
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
- Good physical condition and endurance.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Own tools, equipment and transport.
